5 Female Lifestylers You Should Follow On Instagram

Hello all and happy Friday wherever you are! If you follow me on Instagram (if you don’t, shame on you), you would know that I tend to post quite a bit of content. Usually on a lazy day, I’ll whip out the mobile device and get my creep on in hopes of finding some inspiration for my blog and 95% of the time, I end up doing so. Out of all the tastemakers I follow on Instagram, there’s about five that stick out to me in areas of creating and expanding their brand. Below are five female lifestylers who have inspired me in areas of fashion, ideas, aesthetic and trying new creative roles. Be sure to follow them on Instagram! Trust me, they’re worthy 🙂 Enjoy the rest of your Friday!

Adrianne Ho

Lifestyle: Model-turned-founder of Sweat The Style, a lifestyle blog aimed to empower women to embrace their natural beauty, maintain a positive lifestyle, and keep the fashion game energized. She’s been the face for Stüssy, New Balance, Nordstrom and I can assure you that her closet will make a hypebeast sob Kimoji tears. Last August, Ho expanded her brand with her fitness apparel line called  Sweat The Style (what a coincidence) through retailer Pacsun aimed to make women feel good while maintaining their sense of coolness. Born in the 6ix but currently resides in New York City, Los Angeles, and Supreme box logo tees.

2.) Aleali May

Lifestyle: Founder of the blog www.alealimay.com. She uses her blog to showcase her effortless street style, creative collabs, events, and fashion shows that I dream of attending.  You may have come across Aleali’s face on my Instagram a few times on a given Wednesday in honour of #WCW. This model/image consultant/blogger has gained massive respect from the street wear community for her ability to combine high fashion brands with street wear labels. She’s gained the likes from fashion influencers such as Don C, Virgil Alboh, Ian Connor and & Pharrell Williams. From styling Wiz Khalifa, Kendrick Lamar, Tinashe, and Pia Mia, there is no doubt that Aleali has gained the respect from both genders when it comes to styling their lives. Aleali has worked with brands such as Adidas Originals, VANS, Audi, and RSVP Gallery. She maintains her wave whether in the streets of New York, Paris, Copenhagen and you’ll most likely catch her sitting front row at VFiles or at a hip function in L.A. 3.) Vashtie Kola

Lifestyle: Also known as Downtown’s Sweetheart. Besides the fact that this woman is naturally gorgeous and her melanin stays on point like a perfect decimal, she is a woman who wears multiple hats. What I mean by “multiple hats” is that she does not stick to routine for she enjoy taking on  multiple roles: video director, DJ, filmmaker, artist, designer, creative consultant and blogger. Did you know that Kola was the first female to design her own Jordan sneaker? Does the  Air Jordan 2 “Lavender” ring any bells? If that doesn’t impress you, I don’t know what will considering that today’s sneaker community is pretty male-dominated. Her recent endevour involves teaming up with Puma for the PUMA x VASHTIE collection that applies Vashtie’s own tomboy meets the-girl-next-door aesthetic. To match her creative persona, Vashtie incorporated her love of music into her “1992” parties where she takes partygoers on a trip through memory lane to revisit the golden era of hip-hop. Don’t expect this girl to slow down anytime soon.

4.) Christina Paik

Lifestyle: in a world full of photography in areas of fashion, art and architecture, I haven’t come across many photographers who’s vision I fuck with heavily until I came across Christina Paik during a quick creep session on Instagram. After scrolling through Paik’s Instagram profile, it was her aesthetic of capturing beautiful photos of people drenched in streetwear attire such as Stüssy, Supreme and OFF- WHITE. She even photographed female lifestylers such as Aleali May, Vashtie and Adrianne Ho whether in New York or Paris. She’s managed to get to where she is at without having to show her face or take off her clothes, it was simply her eye for natural beauty mixed with a streetwear vibe while keeping a low profile. You can view her artistic portraits on her website at www.christinapaik.com.

5.) Rox Brown

Lifestyle: stylist at VFiles and to celebrities such as Tinashe, Justine Skye and Kylie Jenner, there’s no doubting the fact that Brown is a lifestyler both fashionably and well, literally. I first discovered Brown on A$AP Yams’ Instagram page (R.I.P.) and instantly became enamoured by her fashion taste. Imagine if Lil Kim, Foxy Brown and Pharrell became best friends and mash their style together, you get this Jamaican beauty. What I admire about Brown is her ability to incorporate menswear into her everyday wardrobe. I was always left with the notion that wearing mens clothes made me feel less feminine but with the help of Brown’s steez, it can a sense of power to a woman’s wardrobe opposed to a pair of pumps and a slim-fitted dress. Brown hold back when it comes to fashion and how she styles her life for if something looks off about an outfit, she’s the first to say “delete.” Just scrolling through her Instagram page makes me yell out the word “want” about 100% of the time. She’s living proof that you don’t have to change who you are to get into the creative field of your desire. I don’t think this woman is gonna slow down her fashion game any time soon!
